FJIIIAbout our Coach

Growing up in Chester County PA, Fran’s early passion was soccer. He continued to play through high school, and was recruited to play in college. Under his calm demeanor is a driven athlete who has competed at the highest collegiate levels. Like many, Fran was introduced to the shooting sports by his parents, and when he moved to California he learned about competitive trap. He was hooked, and began coaching the Auburn Gold Miners, a competitive youth trap in the CYSSA. Moving back to the Main Line, Fran knew there was an opportunity to build an organized youth trap team from the ground up. The program he’s building is family friendly, and is always focused on safety; MLTA echoes the life lessons taught at home, all while having an eye on great success for his athletes. Our friends out west will be excited to learn that our MLTA brand is growing. Look for the inaugural expansion into Reno, NV. When you meet Fran for the first time you’ll recognize that he’s tapped into a sport that builds character and confidence. He has been blessed with athletes who have achieved Club, State, & National Championship awards. Fran is a member of the National Coach Development Staff, and is one of 20 Coaches around the country who have earned their USA Shooting, NRA Advanced Certified Shotgun Coach(Level 3) credential. “Thank you so much for all you have done with Main Line Trap.  You have always went above and beyond as a coach and mentor to the kids.  Matthew has learned so much from you and will always keep you in his thoughts as he continues with this sport.  We are so lucky to have had the time and training you provided to MLTA.  Matthew is lucky to have known and worked with you and I especially appreciate all he has learned from you”. Mrs. G

“Thank you for all you have done for every child that has moved through MLTA, including our own. You have taught our son not only about trap but, patience and teamwork”. Mrs. W

“Although Jon has only been involved in your program for a short time, your impact has been remarkable; your love for the sport infectious … the effect you have had in building Jon’s confidence in a short time is remarkable. I’m very grateful. Also, your patience in teaching me and not allowing me to give up is much appreciated”. Mrs. S
“You have ignited a fire and excitement in Joseph for something that I have never seen. We are up in the mountains today, and spent the afternoon shooting together.  I told him when we started this, at the very least you can now go shooting with me, but if you commit yourself to the sport, it has the potential to take you many places.  For that…. I thank you”. Mr. R
“Thank you for ALL of the work you have put into getting MLTA off the ground.  Your passion for the sport is contagious … Without your enthusiasm, our children would never have started shooting.  You have had quite an impact on them, and for that we will be eternally grateful”! Mr. & Mrs. S
“As parents, we couldn’t be more grateful for your dedication to instilling in our kids the highest levels of sportsmanship and love for the game”. Mr. T
